I am a philosopher working on pictorial communication. My research asks how people use pictures to assert, lie, and mislead, and what synthetic pictures change about photographic testimony. I am completing my doctorate in philosophy at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, with a dissertation titled The Aesthetics of Disinformation.

Before turning to philosophy, I trained as a classical guitarist and worked as a musician and teacher. I also studied Kunst- und Bildgeschichte and spent six years at the Mediathek of Humboldt’s Institut für Kunst- und Bildgeschichte. These experiences continue to shape how I think about interpretation, form, and communication.
